How Does AutoCut Work?
AutoCut uses FFmpeg's silencedetect filter to analyze the audio track of your video and find all segments below a configurable noise threshold. Each detected silent interval is cut out. The remaining speech segments are then concatenated back together using re-encoding with libx264, producing a seamless output file.
The entire process happens on a powerful server — you just upload and download.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does AutoCut remove background music or sounds?
AutoCut analyzes the entire audio track. If background music or ambient noise is present and exceeds the silence threshold, those segments will not be cut. For best results use recordings with minimal background noise, or set a higher noise threshold in the Advanced options.
Will the cuts be noticeable?
AutoCut adds a configurable padding (default 0.10 s) around each cut to preserve natural breathing. Most viewers do not notice the cuts — the pacing simply feels tighter.
What file formats are supported?
MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, and WebM files up to 200 MB. Output is always MP4.
How long does processing take?
